Morning

My mate Stan [who is probably winding me up] reckons that he has heard it's a good idea to put a peeled banana twix buttock cheeks when venturing out for a long ride.

Has anyone else heard of this? And what on earth would be the advantages [other than a handy snack]?

The main advantage I can see is that he can spend the whole ride laughing at you, and then enjoy retelling the story in pubs for years to come.

Yes very common practice, i'm surprised you had never heard of it before.

Its a bit like wearing lycra - before people start out they dont see the benefit and want to wear 'normal' clothes instead. They are too self concious for the lycra and dont initially listen to people who tell them of the advantages it has over 'normal' clothes. However eventually they relent and try some and as soon as they do they can see the benefits that it brings. So rather than listening to advice on here i'd advise you to try it and see the benefit for yourself.
  • to the OP : in this very cold weather, would it be better applied un-split, but hollowed as anti-windchill protection to the pecker?

Tell him that a raw steak instead of chamois works better.

Give him some banana nut cakes and after he has a taste let him know the bananas came from your last 100 mile ride.

If you put some ice cream and berries down there to you could have tidy Nickabockaglory by the time you stop at the cafe.

At this time of year a banana might actually preserve your masculinity

Smooth peanut butter, that's the answer, or so I've heard. Just make sure that you do your own washing !!!
Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.
Faith is the denial of observation so that Belief can be preserved
