Slightly tipsy.

Depends. Last time I went to Craft for lunch I went into the back of someone on the way home.
There are cold beers and room temp red win within easy reach of my desk right now and I'm doing my best to ignore them.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Have you ever been to the Morpeth on an SCR night out?
Sounds like you're just warming up
You can turn on pootle mode, you won't - but it's there if you need to0 -
Work Christmas do in Hampton Court tonight. I'm thinking of taking the pub bike along the river. Debating returning along the river (quiet and more pleasant, but dark) or along the road (busy, but will be seen if face down).
I really should grow up.0 -

I was going to say take the path.....cos you can't be done if you're riding off road....but I thought I'd check my facts and found this:Section 30 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, as amended by the Road Traffic Act 1991, provides the offence of cycling on a road or public place whilst under the influence of drink or drugs. It states:
30(1) A person who, when riding a cycle on a road or other public place, is unfit to ride through drink or drugs (that is to say, is under the influence of drink or a drug to such an extent as to be incapable of having proper control of the cycle) is guilty of an offence.
So you'll be a naughty cyclist whichever way you go...0 -
I draw the line after about 4 (unless I'm too far gone to draw the line anymore). In these temperatures, I don't wobble for long.....
Plays havoc with the speed stats though.Faster than a tent.......0 -
to such an extent as to be incapable of having proper control of the cycle) is guilty of an offence.
That's a pretty high threshold. Think I'll be okay.
Althougth that legislation does suppose that the cyclist was capable of having proper control of the cycle in the first place.0 -

Good point

Badly drafted legislation - it should have been written without the causative element. Unless of course the burden of proof is on the cyclist.0

I have a "few" on my way back after playing squash, I've only once come off due to an imbalance/co-ordination issue......one detached shoulder later 7 miles from home. The beauty is I'd had enough to numb the pain and to forget so I haven't learnt from the incident eitherMy Marmotte 2012 Blog:

If memory serves me correctly, the penalty for breach of section 30 of the Road Traffic Act is a level 1 fine- not more than £200. In order to commit the offence you have to be riding your bike. However, under section 12 of the Licencing Act 1872, it is an offence to be drunk in charge of a carriage, the definition of which has been held to include a bicycle. To be in charge of something you don't have to be rising it, you can be pushing it. The maximum penalty for this offence is one month imprisonment.
So my legal advice to you is to push your bike home, and if you are seen by the police, to immediately get on it and start riding it. If the police catch up with you, you can explain that you weren't trying to avoid arrest, but simply trying to minimise the offence you were committing. Foolproof. Honest.0 -

I confess, I wimped out or got sensible. Depends on your outlook. I was offered a lift home if I could get myself there. So, I got a bus. Reminded me of why I hate buses. But, I am now home, safe and sound. Only problem is I have to act sober in the morning, when it's my daughter's 10th birthday. Work would have been easier.0

Made it in one piece. Glad of it actually. Burning off a heavy lunch. Especially with the headwind.
I went down Fulham Rd to Putney Bridge for a change - seemed quicker? maybe I was still drunk.0 -

After losing the ability to lie on the floor without holding on, I reckon about 2 pints more is still OK to ride.0
