Christ, that's a grim story, the driver was moaning about missing his flight after he'd killed the cyclist.

Hadn't seen this until now...unbelievable the cps couldn't get the original charge upheld considering his continuing driving!!

Its not in the slightest bit surprising

The CPS do not have any powers to prosecutes cases in Northern Ireland and so were not involved in this case any more than you were

Still why not blame the CPS, in fact why not blame Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden and Barrack Obama as well - they were equally to blame as the CPS

So will be sentanced for the offence he admitted, and not a worse one that couldn't be proven, that is what justice is surely? The sentances for Death by careless (not just the careless driving you imply in your title) are still quite severe, and if it hadn't been introduced as a new offence relatively recently then it would be a lower sentance still, people should only be punished for the offence they commit though, anything else is called anarchy.
