Carbon 456 - Revelation RLT 140?

Was looking to get a second hand full suspension frame/bike (Another Thread). But I've come to the conclusion that i don't really need one, and my budget doesn't get me anything i'd be happy enough with.
So that in mind i started looking at replacing my Commencal Combi frame. Quite like the look of the OnOne Scandal, which is finally doing to be restocked (seems it's always been out of stock for the last year). And pairing this up with my Rockshox Recon Silver fork (X-firm Spring). May go for this as a cheap way of upgrading/getting a new frame.
But also noticed the Carbon frames are on sale at £299. I'd need a new fork with this frame really. So was thinking the Revelation RLT 140 would work well (£320)
Is there anything else i should consider either frame or fork.
I know generally both the above frames get good reveiws, but i'd prefer the 456 with new forks to be honest. Just becasue i want something different. I'm not sure i'd notice much difference between the Scandel and the Combi to be honest. other than it being a little lighter.
Basically it would be used for trail centres, Peak district, coast to coast ride, also wanting to do the CRC marathons this year (at least the more local ones). And i also commute to work (11-15 miles each way)
I'm 6' 2'' and weigh just over 15 stone, so was looking at the 20'' frame.
Stuff to be transferred over (would probably upgrade these bit over time but looking to reuse for now):
Shimano M545 crank (Double - with small ring removed)
Superstar plasma chain device,
XT Hollowcore 2 BB
X7 rear mech and shifter - no front (1x9)
Shimano M595 Brakes with 203F 180R
Mavic EX729 rims with XT hubs)
Easton EA50 bars - low riser
Truvativ Hussefelt Stem 40mm
Cassette PG970
Would the XT BB work with the chain device? i currently have a 68mm frame with 2 spacers and the device sandwiched between the 456 as a 73mm so no spacers required.
Also need advise on the Headset, the fork i was looking at is 1 1/8 steering, frame is tapered 1.5 to 1 1/8.

Actually it seems there smoothie mixer headset at £25 does the job, i didn't realise the tapered headsets were designed for 1 1/8 steerer.
Looking at about £350, for raw frame, headset, post and clamp.
So basically my questions are:
Would the 456 and revelation fork be much better than the scandal and Recon?
Should i be looking/considering a different fork or/and frame other than the 456/reve?
Would the Hollowcore BB work with my Superstar Plasma in a 73mm BB shell?
Total Budget is around £700 for frame and forks.
But £300 for just a frame to use with my Recon Silver forks.

Ordered the 456 with Red Decals, wasn't sure about the raw carbon, read the finish wasn't great. Also i don't like to wait, always liked the red decal frame anyway. Added the OnOne Twelfty Seatpost (Bargain at £15), Mixer Headset, and OnOne post clamp
Also got the Revelation RLT will 10% discount from J E James.
Total spend = £737.96
Thanks for the help bails87, Read through your thread and now can't wait to get mine built up.
Just hope it's all with me before the weekend so i can build it up, and have time to play with it.0 -
One thing i did forget to ask, do i need to get any compounds to either help grip the seatpost in the frame, or to stop the carbon and alloy fusing together?0

You don't need to, but I got some PAce carbon assembly compund, it helps increase friction so you don't need to tighten the seatclamp as much. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=26768
Otherwise, just grease everything as normal, the BB cup is a metal sleeve, and I think the dropouts/brake mounts are metal under carbon too.0
