You all may not know that my endurance biking is legendary and the trip I had to the IOM staying with old Hop-a-Long CWNT was a case in point.
Anyway to make up for it all and to get some purpose for next year I've gone and entered for the Trans Provence race next September. It's billed as the most techniclly difficult 'point to point' race in the world. UM!
Ah Well what can possibly go wrong ( provided I get in.)

70 participants per year
That does look immense though. I like the idea of doing something like this, multiple descents over a few days, but not quite full-on DH. Sounds like just the sort of thing I'd enjoy.
Remember to sort your brakes out WELL before you leave though
When do you find out if you've made the list?0 -
along with the bc bike race and mega avalanche, this is one event i have to do somepoint during my life, they all look incredible0
-
actually, i'd like to do most of the big DH enduro races, downeville etc, my kinda riding, might take a look at the gravity enduros next year, its on my list of thing to do0
-
You know what would be an ideal bike to do this on Richie.....
an Edison
Shame you don't know anyone selling one though eh.0 -
An Eddison would be good for....... no can't think of anything right now:)
As for getting in I may have left it late based on MBR magwho said " entries go live.....12 dec"but going on their site had the forms available from dec 1 so filled one in and sent it off all I can do is wait and hopeI'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Fair f*****g play, boss!
Hope you get a place - it'll be seven shades of awesome!
Would certainly like the kajones to attempt something like that. How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.

I have to say, looking in more detail at that site, and seeing the list of notable entrants this year, I reckon I'd prefer to do the non-competitive, guided tour of the entire route run a little earlier in the year.
Not sure I'd fancy getting ruined all over by all those pros.0 -
No Luck the race is full:(
But I may consider the guided tour but I think the dates clash with work dates never mind will apply earlier for 2013I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

one of the main reasons i gave up xc racing, i had the speed on technical sections, just not on the climbs i wish this had been around 4/5 years ago, otherwise i probably wouldnt have given up racing0 -
They should do something like this in the UK.
There are plenty of places to do it.

WE CAN
No serious at the cruddie meet up in the peaks there are enongh dh sections that can be linked / driven to so that something could be organised for one or both of the days at least we'd only need a few who'd be willing to make it workI'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

I have already suggested something similar
In fact, I think I've discussed it with you already Richie, I've been banging on about it for years so I'm sure I have
I was hoping to sort something out in 2012, but looks like it'll have to be the following year now.
Of course, with this being the crudcatcher, it'll never actually happen.0 -
There's already enduro racing in the UK... Not quite the same- not big point-to-points- but same basic concept. Best format there is IMO...
I'd love to do this one, not likely to happen though but it's the dream race isn't it.Uncompromising extremist0 -

Yes you did but that was more about a road trip rather than linking up DH type sections with up lift as a racey type thing
which could be done as some fun over the course of a day.I'm sure with my oodles of time sat on my ar$e between trips I could come up with something for the Cruddies 2012 meet that has yet to be arranged IN THE PEAKSI'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!
