    Has yours been despatched yet?

Mine is in picking and has been all day - and I notice they arent taking orders anymore. So I just hope they actually had some stock and it wasnt a glitch, because that was a brilliant price...!

Fingers crossed for both of us.

Not quite - this will work out £249 (with Quidco) including the maps - so cheaper AND much better package.

    Just gotta keep everything crossed...

  • DO NOT BUY FROM SIMPLE ELECTRONICS!!

They are known for being VERY VERY bad at customer service and they are in China!

I was probably the luckiest bastard ever as i ordered a Garmin 205 forerunner from them instead of using handtec, once i relized how bad simpleelectronics.net was i was very worried about not getting my garmin....lucky for me it finally turned up about 1 week after due and it worked first time and still is

Though im one of the 1% the other 99% get fualty products and bad service.

stay clear of them as their site is a .net so you kind of screwed if anything goes wrong given their address details are AWOL

    Mine is still 'being picked'...

Wish I had paid for 24hr delivery as I am sure they have run out of stock before picking mine, and just waiting until I get the dreaded email... I can only hope that this is not the case and that their stock level system is working properly!

Wohoo - despatched a couple of hours ago, apparently.

I am a very happy man now - this is an awesome deal.

Thanks Camerauk - I may have missed this without you as they were out of stock when I did a search a couple of weeks ago, and was thinking I would have to pay a fair bit more than this.

Been out with it a couple of times now, and starting to get used to it. Was really dissapointed when I first played with it at home - the OS maps are quite a low res, so when you zoom in they go all blurry. Seemed to be a real faff getting it set up and getting extra OSM maps and GPX courses on it. The OSM maps are pretty poor from what I can see too.

However when I got out on the road with it I really liked it and am now really happy with it. Still wish the OS maps didnt go all blurry when zoomed in though - especially because when you set auto-zoom on when following a course it zooms in at junctions and its so blurry you cant tell what you are looking at - would be better not zoomed in so far. I am sure now that I will like it more and more as time goes on.

Useful tidbit of information - everywhere on the web tells you that you can only have one map on the SD card but that is wrong - the 705 only allows 1 but the 800 can have as many as you want if you just name them uniquely.

Even better - got £9.71 quidco back too, making it less than £250...!!!

I owe you a pint or two camerauk, if I ever meet you!

    Glad you like it
it's a bit of a learning curve getting used to it

I to am loving the unit I do agree about the maps when in very close but I don't have them zoomed in that far
think mine are always on about 800ft which is all i seem to need when following a trail

cheers for the offer of a few beers will take you up on that if our paths ever cross :D
    enjoy

Back in stock for anyone who missed out last time - and a couple of quid cheaper still!

Cant understand why they are selling them this cheap but glad they are.
