Cyclo-Cross Disc Brakes

All of the cyclo-cross bikes I've seen recently that have been adopting disc brakes seem to be using cable disc brakes over hydraulic .
These are fairly high end bikes, so I would have imagined that they'd have the optimal equipment for the task, so is there a reason that manufacturers are opting for cable discs over hydraulic?
If budget isn't a concern, which given the price of these bikes, presumably it isn't, is there a performance issue related to cyclo-cross?

currently there are no STI's that work with hydros. othere than the odd conversion kit that takes cable to hydro.
hydro sti will arrive at some time."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
