Are these any good? SportsDirect are selling them cheap and I need a pair of padded shorts.

  • For the £7 or so I paid I thought they were good value even if it's only to trash them through winter, padding is ok, washed mine & still fine, also bought karimoor longs, under no illusion they're not great quality but again for £7 can't complain, may need something warmer as it gets colder though

sorry to high-jack the thread a bit but I've got a pair of Muddy Fox longs that I'd sell for £10 inc P&P (cost £20 - although now down to £11 plus P&P). I just prefer bibs - these were a present that I've never worn. :)

http://www.sportsdirect.com/muddyfox-padded-cycling-tights-mens-635038?colcode=63503803 the black/green ones, size L which is similar fit to my XL Castelli and Medium Altura longs.

Anyone tried the Muddyfox shoes? Was in Sportsdirect the other day, not bad looking and only £26! Not in any need of new road shoes, but n+1 and all that...
  • Muddy Fox and Karrimor are not really brands anymore. The names are owned by Sports Direct who put them on generally budget gear and then claim you are getting a 'branded' product at a great deal. The stuff is probably OK for the price you pay but don't be deceived into thinking you are getting a £20 product for a tenner, you'll generally be getting something that might just about be worth what the actual price is.

yeah, wasn't convinced by the rrrp of £100 for the shoes, but didn't look too bad for £26.
