For thems in the know - does anyone have an opinion on whether there is likely to be a significant reduction in complete bike prices after Christmas? Or is it likely to be the usual where most of last seasons bikes have been sold off in September/October and just the XS frame sizes are left over and being flogged off dirt cheap?
Cheers

  • There are discounts now, I just bought a Marin B17 with over £200 off, I think they are struggling to sell expensive bikes in the current economic climate. I suggest you go and talk to them, and negotiate.

Yeah, but I'm looking at bikes now with £200 off and I'm thinking "It's £200 off now is it going to be £300 off after christmas." It always seems to be better to wait until tomorrow...

How do you like your new purchase BTW ? :D
  • In Jan/Feb they can really come down in price. But the choice gets more limited the longer you leave it

I think Jan/Feb will see lower prices as they sell off stock to make way for 2012 bikes. the economic climate will see price curbed during 2012. High list prices and deals to be had. March, april, is the worse time as a lot of c2w schemes kick off which have a time limit to buy.

December prices are attractive for christmas pressies.
  • Spoke to my LBS and his bikes are the lowest they will be now, he's getting new 2012 stock in from february.

He's hardly going to encourage you to come back in a few weeks when he could get you to buy today.

He's the father in law and I've already bought the bike for cost so I know he's genuine about them being the lowest price now. He's got rid of most of his 2011 stock now anyway :)

But I get your point diy

Take her off my hands and you can!! You'd be better of paying full price for a bike believe me :)
