Not Earth-moving, but I was really encouraged to read this story in the Evening Standard

Fewer cars on the road around a school, happier local residents, more children cycling to school with all the associated health benefits - what's not to like. Well done to all those who made it happen, and a nice antidote to the idiocy going on in the GLA (edit) and the House of Lords.
