My rear v-brake not springing back, thus rubbing on frame. Can anyone on the forum offer advice before i attack with Allen keys?

Unclamp the cable first and establish whether the fault lies in the cable routing or the brake itself. If it's in the brake then chances are the pivots need cleaning and re-greasing. Take care not to contaminate your pads.
