Which Maxxis Tyre?

Hello
Been riding Maxxis High Rollers for oh so long. Great tyre...but...I'm going to do a week long Enduro race with lots of climbing and need to get something fast but also good for all conditions and a wee bit lighter than the High rollers
I've been looking at The Aspen, Ardent and Advantage in either 2.1 or 2.25 and will switch to tubeless with some Hope hoops at the same time.
Can anyone recommend which tyre of the three above would be the best?
Thanks

been running ardents on my fullsusser for a few years now mainly one of my whislter bikes.. done a few big days on my xc/trail bike.. i found the ardent to be fine cant remember what size they are but the 60 a compound... the grip has been fine and whislter was pretty dam wet in may this year.... so the epic 40k we did in the chilcotins....
i run minions on my hardtail they grippy as but do drag a bit..... but they are super tacky ones....www.bearbackbiking.com

If it's a race Aspens are your best bet.
Ardents are fantastic trail tyres with tall, flexible sidewalls that take a while to get up to speed but they kindof mould themselves to the terrain and grip well in a wide range of conditions.
Advantages are superb in loose rubbly stuff but they are heavy.0 -
I don't have any experience of those tyres i'm afraid but, as an aside, I wanted to add that I use my normal tyres for racing (minion + high roller). Not very fast rolling or efficient for climbing, but it means that I can merrily plough over roots and all sorts of stuff whilst everyone else is slipping and sliding
Anyway, good luckLife is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....

Are you swapping wheels as well? (thats how I read it) if so the weight saving (if any) may allow you to run a heavier tyre.0 -

Bike is approx 13 Kg and need to loose some weight. Too much climbing with all that bike. Quick win is wheels and tyres and the rest well forget it. Too expensive. I'd like to loose as much weight as possible (I have up to 4000 metres of climbing some days). So with different wheels I can loose nearly 750 grams. Hoping the tubeless conversion and a lighter tyre will help to remove another 500 grams. However I must have durabilty for 9 days of racing and fingers crossed no issues. The Aspen, Advantage and High Roller come in at about 550 grams and the Ardent about 750 grams for the versions I'd buy.If it's a race Aspens are your best bet.
I guess I need to pick the fastest rolling tyre that can cope well with wet, rocky and rooty technical runs (just in case) and hopefully last a whole 2 weeks. I'm sure that there will be many miles of fireroads and less of the technical but having never ridden the course or ridden the country from top to bottem off road I need to pick something that is good for all round.
So far biased towards the Advantage. Best all round? The Aspen's not enough tread for technical?, the Ardent is to heavy and the high rollers...well they are more a downhill slant.0 -
