    I've just bought these: http://www.sealskinz.com/gloves/winter- ... s-with-gel

Had to take them off on Sunday since my hands were baking! So then I put on my trusty pair of these: http://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bc/SBC ... spid=57908 and they kept my hands pleasantly warm.

Decathlon store opened near me recently and I bought a pair of ski gloves for £7.99 - the RNS 200 glove

Claimed to be breathable, water and windproof - Big vlaim for cheap gloves but so far, on the mainly cold and not cold/wet days (around -2 or so min) I've used them in, they are good - bought an XL size - I am realistically a medium but that gives benefit of length for fingers, lack of constriction and long cuff - that last one I've found to be a real benefit. Not mega padded so using with STIs should be fine - not an issue for my SS.

Whatever gloves you wear, if you want warmer hands, buy yourself some 100% Silk liners.

You can get them on Ebay for 6.99 inc pp from Jasminesilkdream. Nuff Said.

Well, tonights wet, windy and chilly ride home resulted in fingers getting a bit chilly with these gloves. I've a few other pairs of what seemed on 1st appearance to be excellent ski gloves but these ones do not, for me anyway, do the cold + wet well. I don't ski but I think that with their intended use the gloves aren't having to put up with a constant soaking from rain, snow does not have the same penetrative ability as our cold rain does. They just about coped ok with an hour's ride but if I was out for 2 or 3 hrs I'd be in a worse state.

I don't have any problem changing gear or braking with hulking great ski gloves.

As for those cold handling gloves - the only bother with those on spec is that I'm not sure they are very waterproof.
My winter gloves are for very cold weather I have water proof gloves for general riding.
