Having owned the bike a couple of years and adding the odd gold bits here and there I finally picked up my gold wheels this week to finish it off (built by JRA, Sheffield). Just need some fluffy dice to finish the fully PIMP'd look off.
Tried to trim the weight off gradually and am pleased with the result 26.98lbs

And for those that say 'ride the thing', its ridden most days to work and at least once every week its treated to some lovely Northern trails whatever the weather :)

    Thanks.
Well to be honest it isnt mine, but I thought that it would go best with the orange, so bought a few bolts and then a chain, and then I found it was a slippery slope, but Im pleased with the results. Lets see how fast winter will destroy it. New chain and cassette since Feb :(

Looks great :) Im a big fan of the Rush, one of the most underrated bikes in recent times...
  • nice looking ride. gold spokes maybe a bit much, but as long as you like it.

can i ask if your running your wheels tubeless? iv had a few problems being able to properly seat my tyres on the rim.

Hi there, running tubes Im afraid. I did notice though once Id pumped them up and disconnected the pump the tyre pinged on to the rim like a car tyre does. So it must not have been seated right either.
  • Looks quality! Just the right amount of gold I reckon, gold rims would've been too much but the gold spokes on black rims look sick! Nothing wrong with having your ride look good!

Your gonna need a new front tyre on there though mate. Needs the matching stripe! :D

Im glad you've said that, as this is my first and only full suss I often wonder how it would compare to other bikes.

  • like the Thomson gold finishing plate, they are brand new out...and the gold bolts!

Is that a KMC gold chain?

the faceplates are new, thought it would be rude not to. The bolts are from Uberbike though not thomson, and yes its KMC chain.

oh right ok. yeah when i put mine in with a tube it pinged onto the rim after a hard bit of pumping. can i ask whether the ralph and nic were hard to get onto the rim? did you need to use levers and really force them on?

thanks. sweet looking ride i have to say, the more i look the more i like!

Both the tyres were difficult but not impossible to get on with fingers and thumbs. Didn't resort to levers. Putting the Rubber Queens on tonight and hoping they'll be a little easier.
  • Nice!
  • Very nice!!

Love the silver cassette mixed with the gold hubs and chain, and those wheels look ace!

    Well done!

I really like that, I'm thinking of a similar colour scheme on my steel Kona HT.

get some pics up when its progressing, I definitely think Gold is due for a come back, hopefully the 90's purple won't be too far behind :)

This is my friends Cannondale in ridiculously never ridden condition. I keep making him offers but he's yet to part.

I've had a massive thing for this song recently, and this is the perfect rig to ride on it with.

Yeah Ive had a look at the KCNC cassettes before but I couldnt justify the extra cost to be honest for something that get destroyed over winter. Look great though.
