Hello all,
I'm going to splash out on a new bike as I can't keep 3 bikes in the garage! I am set on getting a Trek Fuel but want to know opinions if it's worth spending the extra £500 on the ex9 over the ex8 ? The differences in the SLX to XT do not bother me too much but is it worth it for the forks and shock? What other differences are there?
I can get the 2012 Ex8 for £2000 and Ex9 £2500.
Thanks.

To be honest I would say it is worth the extra as you get shock and fork upgrades..compression adjusability on the forks, the rear can has the boost valve activated on a big hit plus three position pro-pedal...the wheels are also better, so are the brakes and a mix of XT/XTR over SLX and XT

If the world was flat, I wouldn't be riding !

Yes, ALL day long (if you have the extra £££ that is)

Besides the XT upgrade, the EX9's Forks are FIT RLC and Kashima coated, the rear shock is a Float RP-3 opposed to a RP-2 on the EX8, rear hub is a 142x12mm rear hub and the raw finish on the 9 is much, much nicer than the options on the 8.

    Hi,
I am in the same situation at the mo. I am waiting to see what Evans is going to do with their prices after Christmas. I had a Ex8 2010. It was a fantastic bike and was sorry to sell it. Ex9 @ £2500, yes pls
