Recon SL Compression damping

have a 100mm coil with lockout and rebound adjust pair of these
no compression damping adjustment sadly - which I would like to change
sram manual says 5wt oil 120ml - so I guess I can reduce this amount slightly or put a lighter weight in for a more compliant ride?
or just go buy the motion control damper...?
prefer the first option as once it's ballpark right I can leave it and that's a few quid instead of £60 or thereabouts
wil this work?

Oil change will not make it more compliant. All it will do is possibly stop the rebound damping from working. A lighter weight oil will make the rebound faster for any given setting."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

As above, you need the Moco unit.0

of course - forgot to consider the rebound damping uses the same oil....doh.
