Albert Bridge

Opening today. I rode by on Thursday and talked to the workmen who let me ride across it, got to the other side and boasted to a lady cyclist about what I'd just done (first cyclist across the bridge la la la) and she told me she'd snuck onto it the night before, boo!
Lovely ride across, shame when it's full of cars again, although couldn't see a way for cars to get on the south side, just two cycle lanes, is that right?

I went over there too. There were a few peds and some other cyclists. It's looking really good. Shame it's soon to be cluttered up by all those stinky metal boxes. I wish they'd leave it the way it is. Imagine one car free crossing in West London. What a joy that would be.0

Mar 2010. Warning signs went up in Feb 10.
When it was closed they had signs up saying "Closed until 18.00 on 13 August 2011" or some equally ultra-specific date in August. The 18.00 bit was risible.

Its been quite an enjoyable ride up to Battersea park since the bridge has been shut. This morning the usual tos*ers were back in their cars / vans, racing up to the red lights and cutting up cyclists in the process. Wish they would shut it again.Fat lads take longer to stop.0
