    Does anyone actually get upset when an sffigy of themselves is burned ? Seems a bit pointless to me.
    Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.
    Faith is the denial of observation so that Belief can be preserved

    Its sort of like a massive compliment really: "You made us sooooooooooooooooo angry that we went to the effort of making a dol lof you, getting really angry and setting fire to it".

    Anyway, Seb Coe? Seriously? Now that's surreally cool. Were they out of Obama/Cameron's and the bloke in the effigy shop ("Effigies R Us - a highly inflammable doll for every occasion - special range in fore skins for circumcision ceremonies") persuaded them to take that Seb Coe that the Saturday boy ordered by mistake a few years ago?

    Couldn't have been much of an inferno - there's not much meat on Seb.

    If they're Hindus it's probably a vegetarian effigy.
  • Seb's ordered a korma tonight, then.

    There's a marketing opportunity - the Sebastian Koerma. Though really it should be a vindaloo.

    Ha!! :lol::lol:

    very good!

    RE effigy burning - I'm sure even the most confident of people's ego would be a little bit hurt watching themselves being burned....

    Delivery within 1 min 45 or your money back.

    I have to say, if I was a major public figure, being 'burnt in effigy' would be one of my ambitions. It's a sort of validation of your status. (It's like when footballers get booed - you have to reach a certain level to be worthy of booing.

    Come come. To be burnt as an effigy it surely follows that you've reached some station in life and it's time for a celebratory glass of something fizzy or expensively red, no? In the vernacular of the day, I'd be chuffed to f to be effigied [<<note new verb there] over the SC Stats thing for example. Does this perhaps tie in with Mr Clarkson's activities this week?
