New Hardtail - Ridley?

Hi,
My LBS has just got in a range of Ridley MTB's. I'm looking for a decent entry level Hardtail to replace my hybrid and to use on some canal towpaths and some XC trails. The Ridley Trailfire has a mixture of Deore & Acera and Avid Juicy 3 Disc Brakes. The Fork is Suntour XCM. Is this a decent spec? Is the fork okay? I've seen mixed reviews.

Any advice welcome.
Thanks.

It's about £600 ? if so then for £100 less you can get a much better spec in the Decathlon Rockrider 8.1...
A way better fork, and the components pi$$ all over the Ridley....

With a frame that is heavier than a £300 Carrera.....not good!
