arfternoon me babbers, how be?
looking to get a chain device for my stumpy, (2006 FSR Pro) and what to continue to run a 2x9 setup, the setup at the minute is basically the Shinamo XT chainset with the outer ring removed and the derailleur limit screws adjusted.
my reason for wanting a chain guide is i get some chain slap and now and then it does come of on a DH run from time to time, most notably on a decent run at Cwmcarn.
So can anyone point me to some of the likely candidates from the likes of MRP, E-13 etc??

it will not stop chain slap.
what bb type?
what mounting for the device?
i guess external and none but?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Sorry, retard over here thought you lot was mind readers!
External BB and no mounting points.....
i thought it would reduce the chain slap due to the increase in tension, i must be wrong, but keeping the chain on it definitely will do!0 -
I use Heim2 from E13 which is BB fitting, it keeps the chain on, regarding chain slap, did you shorten your chain?0

but you will need to lengthen it when you fit a device. (if you do)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I use a Blackspire stinger. It does reduce chain slap and since I've been using it my chain has not come off. Mines running on a 2x9 set up also. The stinger is mounted to a Shimano Hollowtech II BB with no mounts. I'm very happy with it.----

I also use a blackspire stinger. There are some much more expensive guides (MRP 2X) that give more coverage. The Stinger has reduced chainslap noticeably though, so much so that I realised pretty quickly when the roller dropped off the other weekend! :oops:0
