There'll be half an inch difference.
Have you suggested a hardtail yet ????0 -

There's a lot of other differences between the sizes- check out the toptube and wheelbase figures.
Seat tube length is a bad indicator of size for DH bikes. If you take my Herb, frinstance, all 3 frame sizes have the exact same seat-tube length, the only differences are in length. Seat tube length doesn't matter much when you've got the seat down after all.Uncompromising extremist0 -
what I meant was will the half inch make much difference in feel?
No, there'll be absolutely no difference. I dont know why Giant make different sized bikes, they all feel the same.0 -

Haha, it looks like its too late for that now, we're two pages in! If I'd got in from the start then it might have saved all this confusion.0 -

Yes I already calculated that in my previous post, but well done.

The wheelbase will be longer on the bigger sizes making the bike more stable in theroy, Like Pudseyp says have you tried a full on DH machine?
I have a Giant Reign with 160mm forks and I do DH stuff no problem and it allows me to pedal back up without to much hassle.0 -

This is true as most DH bikes come up short, take a look at the Glory the large is 17.5" frame whereas a XC bike etc a large would probably be a 19" frame....as they are gravity bikes this makes them more chuckable and as it has been said the slack angles and long forks give a long wheelbase whilst the rider sits lower for a low centre of gravity.0 -
What about this monster?

The best DH bike in the world ever is the GT IT1*
Buy mine?
(* some of that statement may be an exaggeration, but its pretty awesome)
On a serious note, there aren't really any bad DH specific bikes anymore, its generally down to personal preference, so try as many as you can to see which you like the feel of!Santa Cruz 5010C
