Poor wheel build.
Get it rebuilt or replaced."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

i had a few wheelsets off chainreaction (custom built) they been solid for 3 years the ones on my santacruz have been abused in whistler for 3 years. (6 trips) they are a fireeyehub on mavic rims ithink it's a ex825.. not light but strong. the second pair is hope pro 2 on mavic rims i think it xm317....
now open can f worms IN MY EXPERIENCE or the only trouble we had with wheels was from merlin now merlin are ment to be the all singing all dancing best of best wheel builders. but my brother had a set of pro 2s custom built by them and had nothing but trouble ie loose spokes spokes breaking (sound familiar) must of had at least 6 spokes replaced in the wheel, before the guys in the shop said it would be best to rebuild the wheel which they did (a shop in whistler) and it been fine since......
you could use your original hub you would just need new rim spokes and i would replace the nipples to.www.bearbackbiking.com

My Spesh comp 09 has suffered several broken spokes .....have been tols that the build quaility on said year of bike was questionable by local bike shop - although they said a recall was not made.
Wheel is currently in big chain bike shop trying to source a replacement black spoke - too embarased to admit who they are.
But been told that best thing to do is a rebuild ... £40.
I'm not a heavy user/abuser of my bike and am dissapointed by the more than occasional spoke breaking - more so now cos I am making more time to get on the bike.
Will save my pennies and get the wheel rebuilt at some point soon i think.09 Rockhopper Comp
