Super Duper Brakes!

Anyone bought or heard about the Brakeforce One disc brakes for mountain bikes? They are supposed to be best available and have out-performed all other leading brakes in tests in Europe. They also need only one finger to use the lever and have more stopping power! But how much much are they and has anyone tried them? Check out their website www.brakeforceone.com and read all about them. I want a set for sure!

surely if your brakes are set up properly for how/what you ride, most brakes should be able to do this? I'm 16st and my oros can chuck me over the bars with 1 finger if I so wish.
Also regarding the outperforming ALL other brakes in tests, really? All of them,? that's a lot of brakes.
Who tested them?
How were they tested, what specifically were they testing?
Where can I see the results of these tests?
and another thing.■No more grinding and squeaking brakes as the pads are actively retracted to create a true air gap (adjustment of clearance at the dial on the brake lever).
That makes no sense, surely they have just describes how all hydraulic brakes work havent they? Every set I've ever owned retract the pads after you squeeze the lever, or you'd never go anywhere :?
They are pretty though, I'll give them that.0 -
I only use one finger on the rear brake of my Avid Code brakes (two on the front as my right index finger has severed tendons)
The issue with any new brand of brakes is the availability of pads at the LBS, not many riders keep spare pads in the spares box.0 -
finally found the price through one of the distributors(Swiss) and they work out at £375 per brake.
They do look nice, but thats a bit of a claim that they are better than ALL others on the market!Ride Crash Ride Again0 -
at that money i'd rather have something tried and tested.
I believe the "air" gap can be adjusted when off the the leaver? i know the new XT ones have the a "air" adjustment on them.0 -
Spammers work is done. You don't expect them back, do you?I don't do smileys.

To give him credit, the guy who designed them is a college student in his spare time as a project, its quite cool that they're going to be built, I hope they turn out to be the best ever. That said, any more power than my XTs would be just stupid.A Flock of Birds

Power without good modulation is useless. However at £375 per end I don't foresee any manufacturers slapping these on to their catalogue bike ranges. Yes they do look nice, but I'd certainly wait until they become more mainstream before spending £750 on a set of brakes without a track record or dealer network within the UK0 -

Exactly, any more power and modulation becomes irrelevant, if touching the brakes locks the wheels, you can't use it.A Flock of Birds

well you can but...
Trials riders want that type of use."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

A great idea, no doubt the big boys are keeping their eyes on these and will look to something similar for their future releases  They would in theory do bloody well on motorbikes as well. Almost tempted to buy shares..........Don't think, BE:0
