Rim Job

I've never changed the rims on any of the bikes i've had. I've never needed to.
Whether that means I'm not riding hard enough, or alternatively I have perfect riding technique (not likely) is besides the point.

But now for some reason I feel the need to, despite there being nothing structurally wrong with the one's I've got on. I just want to upgrade something.

I've a Trek Remedy 7 so riding all sorts...up, down, down, up, sideways...

Any quick advice on something strong and light and not a fortune, because I don't have a furtune to spend.

Cheers y'all

  • the wheels iv just gone for are a Hope Hoops set.

Pro 2 Evo hubs with Stans Crest rims and DT competition spokes.

Iv paid £265 i think for the set. nice and light and strong. and obviously ready for tubeless running with some sealant and tape.

Why not spend on something you need.
just buying random new wheels is unlikely to be an upgrade if yours are fine.

If you want to keep the hubs, then Merlin are punting 2 stans 355 for £80.

Wouldn't expect 355s or (to a lesser extent) Crests to cash the cheques a Remedy can write tbh.

You'll need to spend a fair bit to get something light yet strong enough to complement that bike... Stans Flows would be the obvious contender but not cheap. Not worth doing it halfassed IMO.
