2010 Trek Fuel EX 6 or 2011 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp

JE James have both these bikes on sale and I'm hoping to pick one up after Christmas. The Trek is £1270 and the Spesh is £1500. I mostly ride Cannock Chase at the moment but want to get into the rougher stuff. I need this bike to last me for a good few years and was wondering if people could tell me what they're capable of. I had a Trek 4500 once and really liked it, the Spesh is £230 more and butt-ugly but has 20mm more travel.

My head is telling me to get the Spesh but I dunno, the Trek just gets me more excited. Gonna try em both but James only let you take them round the car park. My first jaunt on the bike will hopefully be up Snowdon and a car park doesn't really compare :(

    I tried a fuel ex and it didn't impress me at all. I wanted to try a remedy, but nowhere had one, ended up buying an enduro.
    If you want to try bigger stuff, i'd say the stumpy out of the 2.
    The treks do look lovely though.
