Hi all, current MTB rider soon to be switching to a road bike for a swifter commute. I've started looking at pedals, was going to pick up a set of Shimano M530 Trail pedals to replace my aging MTB ones - my question is... Can I use these on the road bike as well?
If not can anyone recommend a dual sided SPD pedal?

You can use anything you like!
I started using these on my first road bike. I now use them on my Single Speed, as I can use them with normal shoes and not just SPD shoes.

Ahh nice! Like the idea of being able to use a normal trainer, been caught out a couple of times with current pedals.0 -

If you're going down that kind of route then I'd think very seriously about Crank Brothers Mallet. Big platform, super-easy engagement and release, more float for tired/worn knees and lots of lovely pins (on the new 2&3, on the old 1) to make them very rideable with flat shoes or if, somehow, you fail to engage. Oh, they look f**king beautiful as well.Trail fun - Transition Bandit

I use two sets of Shimanos on my bikes, 1 set on the MTB and one set on my Roadbike both double sided, would never go back, although it is fun off roading in SPD's cause you quite often put your foot down lol
