Hey guys,
Ok so I'm looking for my first road bike, I'm 24, 14stone and about 6'1
Was looking to spend anywhere around the £1000-£1500 bracket.
I'll be hitting the hills locally, might try my hand at the odd triathalon but mainly I'm planning a couple of long distance rides including "london to Paris" and "john'o'grotes to lands end" so it needs to be quality comfy..
So I'm considering;
- cannondale supersix 105 (2011) sale for around £1400
- Specialized secteur comp (top spec) which is £1200 for a 2012
And seen 2011 models for around £1050
-specialized roubaix compact (tiagra) £1600
-cube peloton sl (some ultegra) £1150
Any advice or other recommendations? Or anything else I should be looking for when looking for a bike please let me know.. All help is greatly appreciated cheers
Oh any if any1 has had good experiences with experienced bike shops around the midlands? Hull, Leeds, Sheffield area I don't mind travelling also I often visit london regularly... Would be good to try a couple out n get some good advice cheers

+ 1 what he said
You can get a good spec bike for £500-£600 mark, so why not go for one of those and see how you get on before spending loads
You can always sell it on when the bug has bitten, but if it doesn't, you won't lose a lotShare The Road Event http://www.sharetheroadride.co.uk
