Canyon nerve xc build

After spending this year on a specialized xc comp I decided I wanted something a bit newer and with more travel. So when I was offered a brand new 2010 canyon nerve frame it set things in motion.

Still need to set up the gears and bleed the brakes.also need to cut the steerer down and I may put a 70mm stem on.

Nice. I like the Canyon frames, understated and simple. I like the way the gear cables go through the frame but I'd be worried about the position of the cable underneath the chainstay- I'd cover it up with a protector. The routing of the front brake hose should be inside the lower fork to prevent snagging.

How does it ride compared to comp?

Thanks, not ridden it yet as got to bleed the brakes and the gears need tweaking a bit so hopefully next weekend i will be getting it less virgin white.

Front brake hose now sorted and I also put an extra zip tie on the rear hose to pull further under the frame.
I am going to order a chainstay protector from canyon as the lizard skins one I have fits where it touches... Typical

but isnt the travel the same as on the XC ? arent they both 120mm ?

Cheers for the comment Yes the last versions of the xc were, mine was a little more vintage than that :oops:

I did consider fitting a betd linkage and the adjusting the front fork travel but I have never been a fan of the fox triad rear shox so rather than do that it was not much more to get the frame.

Just tried to order a chainstay protector off the canyon website for £8.95 which is ok as it designed for the bike. Came to pay they wanted over £10 extra for standard postage :!: not sure what planet they are on :shock:

I have dropped canyon an email to see if it is correct and I await a response.

so I may have to buy a super jumbo lizard skin after all.

Nice to be diferent I must admit the lime green that the nerve am's come in is really my favourite colour
