Garmin Edge 200/500 software question

I am thinking of buying a Garnin Edge 200 or 500 to replace the Garmin Edge 205 I had for over 4 years but lost earlier this year.
The 205 I had came with it's own 'Training Centre' disc to install on your PC and you thereafter downloaded all your ride data direct to your own PC to view maps and stats etc. However the 200/500 product descriptions and reviews I have read make no mention of a software disc - it just refers to uploading data to a Garmin Connect website.
Accordingly to see your data, do you have to upload it to this external website, or can you download and install the Garmin Connect system software on to your own PC?

Garmin Connect is all online.
However, you existing Training centre should work with 200/500 which means you retain all that data.
In any case, you can download from here:

I have just bought a Garmin 500 and Training Center came with it. I tend to upload to the Garmin connect website, but use TC for creating workouts that I use on my turbo.0
