In the past I've found LDLines to be cheaper than Brittany Ferries. However, LDLines does not have as many crossing options as Brittany Ferries.

It's worth studying departure times as well. When I was looking to go to Britanny the choice was between ferries that went early in the morning or night ferries - so I needed to take into account the costs of a B&B the night before. That may not be an issue if you live close to the port or on the crissings to Normandy which are shorter.
