Hi all

New to these parts :)

Thought I'd post a pic of my Bionicon Edison.

I built it up from the (2008) frameset, Will try and get some better pics soon.

XT drivetrain, with a low normal rear mech (XT dual control brake/shift levers)
XT Discs/Rotors/Pads
Raceface Evolve DH chainset, 22/32/bash
Hope Pro II hubs / DT Swiss 4.2 rims on the rear
Hope Pro III straight pull hubs / DT Swiss 4.2 rims on the front.
Conti Mountain King Protection 2.2 tyres.
DMR v12 pedals

A very trusty, and versatile steed :)

Cheers CWNT, yep, you certainly don't see them very often...it get's a bit tiresome having to keep explaining the adjustable geometry system too!

    Nice!!

Just thinking - me, CWNT, Sheeps and now you as well.........good stuff!

Just sold my Edison Ltd a couple of months ago to make way for a 2012 custom build Edison with the new G2 fork - build is not far off completion and I'm itching to get this knee injury sorted (2 months off the bike - only a couple more weeks to go :D ) so I can ride it!

At least there is four of you...I am not aware of another Tomac owner on here...icon_sad.gif
Tomac Synper 140 Giant XTC Alliance 1
If the world was flat, I wouldn't be riding !

@andyrm - sorry to hear about the knee - I'm training for a charity ride in April (300 miles over 3 days) and have just built a bike for it, and due to a niggling posterior knee problem I'm only allowd to stay out on the bike for an hour at the moment. Thats bad enough - a few months off riding completely and I'd go crazy - at least the end is in sight for you mate :)

Got any pics of your new build?

@Pudseyp - You're unique, think of it that way :)
  • I trump all your knee problems.

Fell off my Edison last month. Broke my leg in 2 places and completely torn my ACL and LCL which I just found out will require surgery (to be done in Jan). Going to be off the bike for 9-12 months.

I win at failing! Wait..... that's not a good thing is it? BUGGER!

Subsy - Ever thought of getting a dropper post for the Edison? I personally found it finished mine off perfectly.

Jeez mate thats rough......Wish you all the best with the op and the recovery!

Thought about a dropper, but I'm riding much more on my road bikes (Genesis Equilibrium and Scott CR1 Pro) at the moment as I'm training for an April 2012 charity ride in memory of the 96 Liverpool FC fans who died at Hillsborough

Saw your set up and it looks really sweet.

Will have in the next week or so - the frame kit is sat in Zero G (my legend of an LBS) part built and on display in the Bionicon area of the shop, next to the shop owner's Supershuttle still in MegAvalanche setup with number board and everything, and the shop manager's Alva 160. I'd have gone mad sitting looking at it and not being able to ride, plus I keep finding little tweaks having been done on it either by the guys in the shop or Roger from Bionicon when he goes in the shop :D

    Final build spec is:

Bionicon Edison framekit with 2012 G2 160mm fork upgrade, PVA shock upgrade
Superstar Switch Evo (green) hubs on Alex Supra 30 rims
    X9 1x10 transmission (34t ring, 11-36 cassette)
    XT cranks
    WTB Weirwolf TCS tyres
    Superstar 203mm floating rotors
    Magura Louise BAT carbon brakes
Bionicon seatpost (for now until I get a Reverb)
    Specialized saddle
    Superstar Plasma device

Ran 1x9 on the old one and loved it so this is a natural progression for me. Can't wait to get out on it!!!
