Best sledge I ever had was an MGB bonnet that had been damaged in transit. Lunchtime one winter a long time ago a few of us went up the hill from work with a collection of improvised sledges and went hurtling down Richmond Hill. The bonnet would carry 4 people faster than anything, but had little control. Other problem was little would stop it short of hitting a tree. A couple of times we went over the hedge at the bottom of the hill and landed in the road. Fortified with liquid refreshment from The Roebuck we carried on for a couple of hours before going back to work.
That was a good day at the office.0
