Hydrotac Stick-on Lenses, any good?

Query from an old git:-
Has anyone tried the Hydrotac stick-on lenses that are supposed to convert your favourite cycling specs into bifocals?
They were reviewed briefly in CTC mag. (the Aug/Sep issue, P77). They seem like a good idea to see computer, GPS, maps etc, but I'd like a bit of feedback from other users before I commit my £15 from Visiondirect
There are mixed reviews (aren't there always?) on the website - http://www.optx2020.com :?

Sorry, replying to an old post.
Been using these all year and they are superb.
Wanting to order more but the factory is out of stock.
They have transformed my reading the GPS when on the bike, go for them!0 -
Thanks for the reply.
Since my original post, I've bought some and found they were very good. I had much trouble getting them to stick to a couple of my glasses though, but some were OK. It didn't seem that the curvature was any different and any anti-fog coating was long gone. Now I need some more, and like you, I have found that Straightlines are out of stock. End of August for resupply though - maybe!Adrian W.0 -
Adrian, I have been in contact with Optix and they are not expecting stocks until late October.
I've had no problems fitting them to my Oakley Radars, just make sure the lenses are clan and use warm water and leave overnight.
Hope that helps?0 -

All I was told by the guy at Straightlines was that there was a woldwide shortage.
Seems he was correct as the US sites I have tried were OOS too. He was pretty fed up with the situation too.Adrian W.0 -
Velonutter,
Thanks for the advice. I did all the good stuff, but it seems that the lenses are unwilling to stick to some surfaces. I found this as I removed the same lenses and stuck them on other specs without problems. I suppose I am going to have to peel off and re-stick yet again to use my best sunnies.Adrian W.0
