I think you were even quicker off the mark than AFP who are now confirming what you wrote.0

There's actually an off-chance this might happen because it's in negotiation to start the 2013 TdF in Corsica, the first 2-3 days there, with no prologue and including a middle mountain stage.

All coastal towns.
Knowing the island, I'd guess that stage 1 will be a sprint fest.
East side of the island is much flatter than the west
Stage 2 could swing either way.
Probably end up lumpy and depends upon how they make the cut across
the island's centre.
Very pretty and rugged stage 3. Up and down all the way to the final 15kms or so,
when it more or less has to flatten out before Calvi.

As a tip, make sure the Tour isn't the only reason for/ only part of your holiday.0 -

In my experience watching the Tour in person is a bit of a let down, unless it's a part of a broader holiday where you happen to come across the Tour.0

The Heritage of the French needs to be reminded (to the modern French people) and a trip around the Route Napoleon would be a great vehicle to do that.

My last visit was the 2005 TT up Alpe D'huez.(I thought I had given up after 2002 but I had to be there for that TT)
There is not the same atmosphere now, when most people there speak the Language of my Country.
I noted in the 2008 (and again this year) on "stage one" how many Motor Homes (R V's) were crammed along the roads.
Those convoys have to move to another stage and keep going until they find something.
In the mountains these days they will have to be there 3/5 days early to find a place and then watch TV like I do.
There are plenty of other races to go to.Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720 -

I had to quickly check that today's date is 18th December, not 1st April!
As the final stage, I can't see it, as a mountain stage, it's not completely beyond the realms of possibility!Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0
