There is a lumpy route which we followed as far as North Yorkshire from where it is a 1/2 day ride to Whitby.

We followed the C2C (Whitehaven to Sunderland) as far as Stanhope. At Stanhope turned south over the moors to Middleton in Teesdale then onward to NY, this was a lovely route although a tad lumpy. The route from Middleton to Teesside is very picturesque and once you hit Teesside there are nice routes over the moors to Whitby. We did Whitehaven to Stokesley in 2 days (80 miles and 60 miles), Whitby is another 30 or so miles and it would make a very comfortable 4/5 day ride which would help overcome the bumps.

  • I did the C2C last year with a mate, we plotted our own route and I think it's public on GPSies.com.

We did over 4 days to take in the countryside and a few cheeky ales at the end of each day. Also a company called Packhorse who sorted the accomodation and transported the small amount of luggage we both had from point to point each day.

Look for Pabloweaver on GPSies.com and find my tracks, I'm pretty sure they are available but if not, DM me and I will dig out the links.
