HI PEOPLE,
Need a bit of help with what to do next and what you think i may be abole to do,
Have had a mondraker foxy R 2011 for 7 weeks and its been nothing but a headake... week one the fox forks had to go back to mojo because i was only getting 80mm of travel at 50% SAG, week 2 the freewheel bearings gave up after 2 hours of cycling and was 2 weeks before they replace the rear wheel with a diff coulour one and said i should expect a matching frount in a few days.... still not got it.
week 5 the linkage bolt came loose and damaged the frame, week 6 the mech hannger broke after rolling over a bump and bottom of the frame bolts came loose, week 7 and the bolts have comre loose AGAIN after half a bottol of thred lock and now the bolts are rounded out....

have contacted this story to silverfish and are waiting reply...
what do you think i should expect as i have had this bike 7 weeks and it has not even done a 2 hour loop without falling apart or breaking.... safe to say im fed up with it!

you'l have to wait for them to get back to you. If it's positive news then it's all fine, if it's not then come and ask for advice as people should be able to help you.

Best thing is to know your consumer rights, I don't know them off hand, so you may have to read up.

Sounds like you should have a new bike. Sounds like it was the last bike built on a Friday afternoon

I'd be inclined to take it back to the dealer you bought it from (legally the argument is with them) stating the bike is not fit for purpose (sale of gods act) and demand a full refund.

  • Would take the bike back but the bike shop is the most usless i have ever known, was told there was nothing wrong with my forks and i phoned mojo in frount of him to prove i was correct, same problem with the rear wheel as they had it for a week and was told there "so called macanic" said there was nothing wrong with it so i emailed silverfish.
the last convo i had with the shop was him moaning that its cost him money to send these items back and he cant get his money back!...... wont name and shame on internet but i doubt i will get my money back from this cowboy.,

hope silverfish will help me out....... last email from them was about the wheel and they were very sorry i had had so many problems with the bike

Threaten him with trading standards then (probably no point going to him, most are useless these days and only have the resource to follow up criminal activities), that or let him know your rejecting the bike and the court claim (moneyclaim online) paperwork will follow shortly, to which he can add court costs to his pain!

Hard to see it being a 'Friday afternoon' bike as the issues seem to be with seperate components from seperate sub suppliers not with Mondraker's assembly.

I have to wonder how much is user generated.
"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

  • User broke the mec hanger...... forks mojo said the seals where shot and leaking, the rear hub bearings fell apart after 2 hours of cycling.....

the day i got the bike i had to check the thing over because the break calapers where loose and the gears where ghost shifting..... nothing to do with me if the shop cant set a bike up correct

the frame bolt issue is because the shop had used GREASE not thred lock, safe to say this is why im going to silverfish direct
