cyclist killed jumping red light

I gather a cyclist was killed jumping a red light in Barnes last week. I don't know the circumstances, but I am afraid some cyclists do seem to take enormous risks. There is a big difference between quietly turning left on red (when you can clearly see if anything is coming) and going straight across a junction on red.

Seeing as there is really only one main junction in barnes (the one by Starbucks etc) it must be that one?
I used to take that route to the bbc each day and there would always be people that would chance it (its a 5 way junction I think) but if you wait for the lights, there's never an issue at all.. Jumping lights when there are 5 other lanes of traffic that could also jump a light and go through you is mental. Only a fucking idiot would jump lights there, or any other place where you are relying on other cars decisions to make it safe.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0 -
Let's not speak ill of the dead, eh? Although its fair to say that the individual concerned appears to have misjudged this one...0

Very delicately put, BigMat. Regardless of how we feel about RLJ, the poor soul will have had friends and family.
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -
Don't have a link to the story, I'm afraid. I was just told it by a local resident, so may be in the local paper?0

I've not seen anything in the local papers and something like this would be pretty big (being in London too) since it's a rare event, might be wrong though.Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don’t stop when you’re tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.0
