Nipples

I have bib shorts and am happy with their performance however I'm finding that I get nipple rub which is painful afterwards and is not recovering between rides so is exacerbating the issue.
I've tried putting on elasotplasts but they rub off with the sweat after 30+ minutes. I even tried masking tape ffs....!
Does anyone have a better solution or is it back to cycling shorts?

wear a base layer? i tend to wear one year round under my bibs...obviously a warm weather one in summer and one suitable for the cold in winter0

You can wear them over the jersey and look like a t*t or wear a sleeveless base layer underneath though I'm not sure about the weather in Singapore...
Chamois cream may also help0 -
Try vaseline. Used to do swimming training in t shirts and it killed my nipples....vaseline sorted it out a treat!Boardman FS Pro 2010

Thanks for the ideas lads, its steaming hot in Singapore so theres no way I can wear a base layer though, I'll try vaseline tomorrow and see how it goes. A pal of mine did the Singapore marathon a few years back and both his nips were bleeding by the end, two blood marks running down his white running vest! No pain, no gain!
Any othr tips for nips?'I started with nothing and still have most of it left.'0 -
I am disappointed by the content of this thread.0

Blister plasters. They're quite expensive but they don't fall off.0 -

Speak for yourself mate, I'm getting up early tomorrow to get the missus to spend half an hour rubbing vaseline on my nips!
Probably be too bushed to ride afterwards.....'I started with nothing and still have most of it left.'0 -
You could get the Assos ladies bibshorts. Nipples avoided completely. Giordana do something similar but cheaper0
-
Or just use some sort of strap to pull the braces together away from your nips.0

Guys, I used Assos chamois cream and rode 30 miles without a problem. Its usually 27 degrees by 7am so you sweat whether you like it or not, soaked shirt and shorts etc.. so majorly pleased no rub today. Thanks to all.'I started with nothing and still have most of it left.'0

+1 for the Vaseline. I used it sometimes when I lived in Hong Kong. I also found that some jerseys rubbed more than others, possibly due to the mix of materials and the size of the weave. Maybe try different jerseys. Then you could do away with the Assos, unless you're liking it, of course....Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0

Use Wheatgerm oil before and after - works a treat on all types of chaffing.0

I just use a safety pin to pull the two 'straps' of the bibs together and thus avoid any nipple chaffing. Very important when you have below the neck piercings! :shock:0

+1 for Vaseline0

Have you considered nipple removal??? Might make you more streamlined and faster as well...0

try Sudocream, will sort it for you in no time....0

Sudocream is for chaf, not lubrication.
As anyone with young babies can atest! It works well on seat rub for sure though.'I started with nothing and still have most of it left.'0 -
I used to get the same thing whilst running, I completed one race with blood all down my bib from my nipple.. I didn't even realise until someone pointed it out but then it was really sore for days!
Now I rub some Vaseline on and that works a treat0 -
I used to suffer from this problem when I was running a lot. I tried surgical tape in an 'X' pattern over the old nips and it worked a treat. You can get this from chemists. it comes in a small roll and the tape width is around 12mm. I think you can get different widths. Vaseline also works well but can be messy.0
