I imagine that these sorts of requests are constantly posted on here. For that I can only apologise, but I suppose what use is a forum if you can't ask for help and advice?
Anyway, I'm a relative novice MTBer with a 2009 Giant Rincon Hardtail. The bike has served me well but it is a basic spec, however I'm wanting to move up a class or two to get a better set-up. I have around £600-700 to spend on a bike and I've had a look at a Cannondale 2011 SL2, a 2012 Specialised Rockhopper and a my friend's 2008 Orange P7. I really like the look of the Whyte 805 but it is pushing my budget and I wonder whether its actually worth the premium that Whyte bikes seem to command. I've also been suggested to look into 29ers too for my style of riding and I just wonder whether the 29er thing is a gimmick and is potentially limiting on more technical trails.
Anyway my question is, if you had my budget and were looking for a hard tail bike for mainly trail riding...nothing too technical or viscious, what would you be looking at? Would you consider a 29er?
Cheers,
Dave

i cheated really and just copyed bikes from nov issue of mbuk, couldnt find link to article, the last bike won btw.
have a cube acid myself though and its great ,review complains about a better fork, but these folks also review folks that cost more than these full bikes.
also your title says 800,but looking at 600-7000 -
Thanks, much appreciated. the Cube Acid looks good. Looking on others sites it seems that it comes with Rock Shox Recon which I thought was a good fork. Is this not the case?0
