No Good Deed Goes ... Unthanked

Thanks again to the guy who stopped yesterday morning to help get me back onto the road just outside Addington(back brake had worked loose and jammed - I didn't have a Torx wrench on me but he did). You were a star - saved my ride.

Love the way cyclists will always stop and do each other a good deed.

Cheers!

... early this year, I stopped to help a fellow with a flat...

He had a tube and CO2 but seemed to be having difficulties.

I offered him "backup" that was soon needed.

Zap'd his tube when it was pinch'd 'tween rim and bead as he air'd up.

Out of CO2 in short order.

I offered him a patch and my pump.

Long story short... it still took about a half hour for the change (again, I didn't want to presume, but I guess he'd not had much experience with flats... and now was as good a time as any to learn). After it was done, he insisted on paying me or at least getting my addy so's to replace the items... my only "payment" was... pay it forward. The next time you're out and you see a rider in distress, try to help. The simple things. The human things.

    That's how it works.

I even ask people in Richmond park, god forbid.
