Hi

I'm getting hacked off with the Deore set on my Fuel 5.5. (a) it's a bit tired, and (b) although I'm not a great downhiller (obvious, given choice of bike) I like to hare down any bouncy piece of singletrack I can, and I a constantly struggling with chain slap / dropped chain.

Suggest me a solution instead of my current bog standard Deore set up....

Ta

Blackspire stinger should do the the trick for both problems. Thats if you have or go to a double ring up front. Since i've had mine, the chain hasnt come off and chain slap is much less. I also have a Lizard skins chainstay protector on as well.

i'm on a triple, but as I intend to replace at least the crankset, that's not an issue...

Won't solve chainslap, and Deore will not drop chains any worse than any other crankset.

No it wont solve chainslap altogether but it does reduce it a lot. Enough for me to be happy with.
