The reviews of the Lunar R2 on wiggle do sound Promising. And planet x have it at half price too.

Good spot, ordered two, be using them together if the mantra the more there is the better it is applies!

Just ordered a 2nd 1.4a XM-L T6 torch (DX UK warehouse £11 quid) - my current one pulls ~ 1.71a at the cap using AW 2900's giving a real ~ 500 - 520 lumens - a 2nd one will give me a real ~ 1000 - 1050 lumens - (not that I'll be using both on High mode  ) - lit use you only need one on medium and one on low with a flasher on the helmet, for unlit, both on Medium will do the job nicely. I'm out at 5.00am 3 or 4 days a week at the moment so they will see some use.

Could you point out the DX model pls ?
    Is it AA/AAA or the 18650s ?
Fancy a better 2nd/backup light to accompany my DX82510

    It takes one 18650 battery.

~ £ 11 delivered to your door - insane value.

Please forgive what my be a stupid question, but how do you mount it on the bike?

I've been looking at rechargable lights and this model seem to be very cheap, even allowing for the cost of a battery and charger.

    Thanks

Something like this Z -> http://www.fenixtorch.co.uk/led_torches/lockblock.html. They work ok... personally I prefer a proper bike mount like the one the Hope Vision 1 comes with (discussed up the thread a bit)

been using the fenix p1d for a number of years now (3)

Its compact (2" long) strong and bright - although todays torches are catching up with it. Usually have it on strobe

Bought one of fenix's own bike mounts (not the rubber mount) and although its very robust and theres no chance the torch will jump out it does tend to rattle

But if you're using these Cree LEDs then you must use quality rechargeable batteries - don tbother with cheapos

    I've got 2 of these for my 502b's -

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bike-Cycle-Li ... 83&afsrc=1

They're basic but adequate-ish mounts - after securing the clamps 'sufficiently' (dont break the threads) just wrap some electrical tape (tightly) around the base of the setup to give it (alot) more security. This locks it 100 % to the bars. I also tape the torch a bit firmer to the actual top mount bit (it doesn't need it though for the top part tbh) - just make sure you leave the back-end of the torches showing to unscrew for the battery change - at the end of a ride just whip the bike up onto the back wheel to drop the batteries out. I carry spare 18650's when training and they literally go in straight after a ride - the others go straight on charge. Nice, quick and easy routine.

If you're ordering the torches from DX stick a couple of these in
    http://www.dealextreme.com/p/flashlight-mount-792
Not much more the £1 each they work fine
Remember they will take a good while to arrive especially as Xmas approaches if ordering from the cheapest option China warehouse

i'm an owner (& great fan) of Ay-ups - for road work, the ultra-lite is more than adequate at £130 approx.

reassuringly expensive but real quality.... Im on my second winter with not so much as a hiccup with them +++++ recommended.
Ayup on the front for me too. Bright when on lit roads for the commute and then really bright when on unlit roads for night time training.
