Currently running 2010 Chorus and having just bought some Ksyrium SLRs in a Shimano fitting I'm wondering whether to spend £80 on a campag freehub and exalith brake pads or sell the chorus and get Ultegra.
The chorus is only 5mths old as are the Zondas I'd be selling too so shouldn't cost much to change over.
Not had a Shimano bike for years and just fancy a change.
Any thoughts on if it's a downgrade, side ways step or just a daft idea at 00.22 hours ?
Do they weigh about the same ?
How does the Ultegra chainset compare to the Chorus ?
And are shimano brakes better than they were in 2002/3 (105s) ?
I'd be going for that darker finish to go on my black Scapin if it matters.

Cheers

  • ive ridden centaur, and ultegra, as a personal option i prefer the smoother less mechanical shifter that shimano has, but i like the crispness of campag, it is just a personal call, many compare chorus to ultegra in shifting quality, so it may be a change which will only make ergonomic differences.

if it was me, and i was happy with the campagnolo, i would get the freehub, seems like the best choice :)

    hope this helped, happy riding

Been to the LBS (well one of them) and given Ultegra the once over and I'll definetly be sticking with Chorus.
Sorry to have bothered all with ridiculous ideas in the early hours !
