Hi guys,
I would like some advice regarding this stanchion, i have seen a cheap DH bike, its not bad but it has this
Now the lad says its not deep but you can just feel it with your fingers, and feel it in your toes (ok henever said that last bit) but it does not leak and does not affect the performance of the fork. He also says the photo makes it looks bit worse than it is.
can anyone advise as normally i would not use a fork with this damage. I would appreciate guys with the know and experience to comment and what will really happen
cheers
scott

My rebas are in far worse condition, the gold covering is totally worn off in places. A new set of seals was all they needed and regular servicing.0

I have some old Psylos on my second bike that have a lot of the gold coating missing on one side, i fitted a new set of seals, smoothed down the marks and filled it with fresh oil.
Had no problems with it at all, far too many scare stories kicking about.
That fork pictured about is in better condition than mine.1999 Specialized FSR Elite MAX Backbone.
