Sizing of a Canyon AM

I have ordered a Canyon Nerve AM 6.0 2012. The sizing tool recommended a medium (18.5")

My last bike was a spesh fsr at 19" which I always thought was too big, only slightly tho.

I have read a few people that are around my height (5-11" - 6ft) saying that a medium is too small and the tool is inaccurate. Has anyone else found this?

The bike is due in 2 to 3 weeks so will need to let them know now if i need to change the size!

Thanks

If its any help Im 5'10.5 and would defo buy the medium. I sat on a small yesterday and was too small but a large would be massive I reckon for throwing around the trails and being vaguely nimble. The most you'll need to do is slightly increase the stem length and or bar width Id think which is no big deal. I always swap for longer stems anyway so I can peddle the xxxxer up the hill better

im 6ft 1'' and went for the large size as recommended by the canyon sizing tool,id suggest that you actually look at the measurements of the various sizes especially toptube length, theres only a 10mm difference between my AM 620mm and my 21'' hardrock 630mm,and i couldn't be happier with mine

I’m in the same boat, I'm just about to place an order for an AM7. I'm 6'1 and it recommends a 20" frame, but it measures up to be larger than my Carrera fury 20" with I found to be too big. I ride mostly trails around surrey hills but the plan is to get some DH wheels and a bash ring for when I go DHing at Aston hill and other DH places. I'm guessing though that the sag of the rear shock will come into play and mess up the geometry a bit though. What is the general consensus, is the sizing guide on the site any good?

I'm 6' 2, the sizing guide showed a large which is what I ordered, the geometry was about the same as my XL Marin so it's a perfect fit for me. Think its best to compare the geometry to the bike you've got at home and take it from there.

+1 for this, depends really why you feel your fury is too big, is it the reach, stand over height? measure the fury, particulary the toptube and stand over height, its really down to your inside leg measurement and what reach your comfortable with
