GPS Advice needed

I've just bought a road bike to help improve fitness for mountain biking. I'm looking for a GPS to track my training and use on a turbo trainer and on a mountain bike. I'd like it to have a cadence sensor and heart rate monitor. I've been looking at the Garmin Edge 705 and 800. Is the 800 worth the extra £60? Is the mapping capability the same on both? Is the only real difference the touch screen?
Also does anyone have advice on open source or free OS mapping?
Thanks!

I have both. The OS mapping will not work on the 705, if that is important to you. The touch screen is much easier to use. Otherwise not a whole lot of difference. Also, the bracket is more secure on the 800.0

I have the edge 800 and its a good unit if not a little buggy. You can save quite a bit by going for the open MTB and open cycle maps which are very easy to load on to a 1GB micro SD card. Sadly you can only use one map at a time.0

The latest firmware update to the 800 has pretty much resolved all the niggles that annoyed me about it. It actually feels finished now. Recommended, although the screen is a bit small and a bit low res for full blown wander off and explore action.1994 Clark Kent F12; 2004 Mount Vision; 2011 Canyon AM 7, 2012 Canyon Torque FRX 6, a unicycle and a Brompton.0
