buying my first mtb

i am looking to buy my first mtb, want it for everyday use and some trails at the weekend.
my budget is £350 and i have been looking at the carrera vengance 2011 model which seems to be a good bike for the price, i have also been looking at the giant revel 3 2012 model and the guy in the bike shop said that this is a really good bike for the price. i dont know much about mtb's but i am wanting a good one that will last for a few years. and cant cost more £350.
i know my budget isnt that much for what i am expecting but if someone could help me out on this that would be much appreciated.. thanks..

The carrera is the better of the two....

thanks for that, the gt avalanche seems like a good bike to me but i cant seem to find a large one anywhere for under £400 if you or anybody knows where to get one, let me know n that would be great.

I would forget about the larger brands as your paying for the name...a regular recomended bike for your budget is the Decathlon Rockrider 5.3, it has a good chainset for the money and the fork isn't that bad for a bike in your budget...they always come out well in reviews.

They may have a store near you, but also offer delivery....to be honest for £350 you would be hard pushed to find better.0 -
