HI,
I've been happily riding my mmmBop for the last year but have recently been hankering for a FS - budget is an issue but I have seen a Mongoose Canaan XC Comp (09?) for about £350..
Upgrades include Reba dual air with poploc - 120mm travel, Hayes Stroker brakes, Easton bars/stem/post.
The reviews look good for this but I am always sceptical of something that seems too good to be true...
Riding wise, I mostly ride trail centres and local woods (Hamsterley - Kielder - Glentress) and I'm not really into huge jumps but I would like to be able to handle reasonably rough stuff on this...my concern is that I am riding with 140mm up front at the minute and I am worried that dropping to 120 would make a difference - maybe I'm being concerned over nothing but I would really appreciate some advice!
Basically - is this a good deal and will it enhance my riding or set it back...

If it is in good condition then it would be a good buy, Mongoose do make sound bikes (I had a Teocali years ago) as for your concerns about travel...if you not into big jumps and drops and don't bottom out the Ragley then it would be fine....I used to hammer my Marin which was also a 120 travel up at the likes of Glentress...there are loads of capable 120mm trail centre bikes around.0

Thanks for that - it pretty much made up my mind to get the bike, but by the time I replied it was gone!
Better luck next time!Ragley mmmBop
