It will do the job ;-). CRC often seem to strip bikes, then sell the frames with a totally invented RRP. It was from a 500 quid hardtail, which you can get for 375 now.

However is double butted aluminium, and pretty light, s worth the ask if not the RRP.

it says it's the xc model, so i'm guessing 100mm forks will be fine on it?

i'm looking at it replacing the 2007 spesh hardrock frame i use as my commuter bike

If the Hardrock is in good order, I'd keep it! But yes, 100mm forks would be fine.

They have been around for a while CG has been doing some work with them....not sure if they are affiliated to Commencal as some of the range does look similar...especially the Kern and Meta

Possibly because Max Commencal used to run Sunn.
