I have a pair of the shorter seakskinz socks, they come up about about halfway up my shin so with waterproof trousers on aswell im completely protected from anything wet.
Anything sealskinz is a great buy in my eyes and thoroughly worth the money.0 -

Yeah I have the shorter ones but I ride in shorts in winter so these will keep my calfs warm, I hope0 -
Think I got mine from here: http://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/clothi ... cks-p13746
I'd previously gone off Sealskinz, water gets in through the top and they aren't warm when wet but I figured I'd give a knee length option a try coupled with 3/4 length waterproof baggies (and knee pads if needed). Seems to work in terms of comfort + good coverage (no exposed skin) but not ridden them in the wet yet so can't say it works. I've been pleasantly surprised by how well the socks stay up though, I thought they might end up slipping down with the tops ending mid-way up my shin but they actually stay in place (just below the knee).0 -
correct me if i'm wrong here but! i looked at the football socks (sealskinz) and they are only waterproof on the normal foot area and Not Fully waterproof the whole length, which stopped me buying as i fancied some long waterproof socks,Timmo.

Ok socks arrived and they are indeed only waterproof to the ankle area!!
will still wear them and see if they stay dry enough for a couple of hours riding, odviously this is wether dependent0 -
bails87 wrote:I'd send them back TBH, and just get the normal ones, they'll be waterproof to higher up your shin.
And you won't look quite as strange.
Already have the ones to your shin and I like looking strange0 -
